LIFE SDN BHD has enjoyed a very long and exciting journey, from 2004, a year after The Actors Studio @ Plaza Putra endured the floods of 2003. After much thinking with Joe – Where Do We Go From Here – It dawned upon us that these are the trials, tribulations and challenges of life. You guessed it. We gave birth to the Life Sdn Bhd series, beginning for the first 3 years with ‘What It Means to be a Malaysian’. After the three years, Patrick Teoh quipped when are we going to stop talking about us Malaysians – I’m exhausted of good, bad and indifferent stories. So Life Sdn Bhd began looking at issues and there were many. One pressing issue then and still now is breast cancer. The issues flowed on, with Refugees, Abuse, HIV, Human Trafficking and even Ghosts.
The form did not change but the stories became stronger and stronger. Most of the storytellers understood that these are their very own stories, their very own experiences. In a word they are TRUE.
This year, Life Sdn Bhd takes on a new turn. One of The Actors Studio and klpac’s strengths is nurturing the young. We are very proud of our training and education arm, which began as far back as the very early nineties well before The Actors Studio at Plaza Putra was set up. From then until now The Actors Studio is very proud to present hundreds of young Malaysians and non-Malaysians who have stepped through our doorsteps eagerly wanting to learn acting, music, dance and writing from our many well-trained teachers. Where is this getting us to, Faridah. Well, we are very pleased to be able to present a few young talents at least one has been with us from the age of 3 and stepped on the main stage at the age of 6. Adry Bashir, Amirul Zain, Badrish Bahadur, Nabil Sufian, Syed Qodeem, Tin Raman and Wong Zi-Enn will share with you stories that are very close to their lives. Life Sdn Bhd presents Voices of The Young. Enjoy.
