In Episode 4, Joe and Faridah talk to a multifaceted artist who works for both, stage and on-screen creations. Featuring Khairi Anwar, a law graduate from UiTM to an award-winning writer, director, actor and producer mainly with his theatre company, Anomalist Production, founded in 2014.

Khairi’s works are often contemporary and mostly are based on his personal social commentary on what’s happening around us, mainly in Malaysia focusing on racial harmony and social-political issues.

He believes that the arts can change the mentality of society and an artist is responsible to mould a nation and its people to be better, or worse. His first script, Teater Bangsa: Anak Kecil Main Api (2015), won the Audience’s Choice Award in the 13th BOH Cameronian Arts Award.

His most recent work, a feature film named Mentega Terbang (2020) received tremendous good reviews online. Tune in to the full episode to know more!
